  1. Day 1-Drive from Shimla to Sangla valley.

  2. Day 2-Scenic drive to Chitkul-Kalpa

  3. Day 3-Head to Tabo

Irresistible Kinnaur and Spiti Itinerary

  • Meet at Shimla and begin the journey by 7:00 am to Sangla valley. On the way we’ll see juicy apple orchards over the banks of the river Satluj and head to Baspa river gorge and onward journey to Sangla valley for overnight stay at the hotel.

  • Today we will visit Chitkul, the last village in the valley close to Tibet border. Then we will head to Kalpa, the view of the Kinner Kailash range is breathtaking. Overnight at hotel in Kalpa.

  • Drive through the scenic landscape, circling through Nako the Lake and reach Tabo. Stay at guesthouse in Tabo. We can stop for a quick visit to the Nako lake.

  • Visit the ancient Tabo Monastery exploring the capital Dhankar. Spinning the wheel later to Pin valley. Overnight halt at guest house in Pin valley.

  • Today we will visit the only Nyingmapa monastery in Spi8 (the oldest sect of Tibetan Buddhism) at Kungri and thereafter head to Demul Village, overnight stay in homestay.

  • Drive to the highest village in the world – Komic and the highest post office of the world – Hikkim. Crossing over the picturesque village Langza. Overnight stay at homestay/guesthouse in Kaza.

  • Early morning kickstart to Sarahan, worshipping the Bhimakali temple carved in wood on our way. Stay at hotel in Sarahan.

  • Drive back to Shimla with fond memories of icy peaks and lush landscapes in our hearts forever.

Things to Carry

  1. Travel documents

  2. Highly recommended Travel Insurance

  3. A jacket you usually will wear during winters in the plains and one like that of fleece

  4. A wind cheater

  5. Carry ‘layers of clothing’, so you can remove and wear as per the temperature. Keep a jacket handy

  6. Warm hand gloves

  7. Woollen head gear (cap) specially to cover the ears and neck. Woollen scarf

  8. Inners/ thermals, preferably two pairs.

  9. Comfortable shoes to walk, not with hard sole or high heels

  10. Carry enough woollen socks for ten days

  11. Days can be warm, so carry full sleeve T-shirts or cotton shirts, to guard from sunburns

  12. Hand towels & one personal towel

  13. Cotton brim hat to protect your face from UV

  14. re-usable masks, at least 10 pieces and hand sanitizer

  15. Lip Guard, cold cream, Vaseline, moisturiser, sunscreen of SPF30 or higher
